South Creek is a world-class recording studio on Sydney's Northern Beaches, built from the ground up with acoustic designer John Brandt.

The live room is a forest of handcrafted timber panelling with expansive high ceilings, capable of capturing both dry and ambient recordings with variable acoustics. The control room achieves mastering grade accuracy in frequency and time response and boasts a collection of incredible gear, including a pristine vintage U67, an 827 Studer 24 Track tape machine, an EMT 140 plate reverb and much more. Check out the gear list for nerds. There's also a great-sounding vocal booth for bands who want to record live.

Music Production

South Creek is a brother and sister creative production team. Whether you are a young solo artist with an embryonic song idea you'd like developed, or a band ready to make your next record, all are welcome at South Creek.

David and Jane have recorded ARIA award-winning records, and their productions regularly receive national radio play. Between them, they have also worked with artists as diverse as Keith Urban, Flume, Ruel, Peking Duck, Daniel Johns and many more.

Producing is about engaging with the music you are inspired by and collaborating to create the aesthetic and vibe you are going for. It might mean helping you co-write your song, adding live drums, synths, guitars or simply documenting a great performance.

The job of a producer is to realise the artist's vision and, hopefully, go beyond what they thought was even possible.

South Creek is available to other producers and artists to hire the space with everything included. The live room, isolation booths and control room are fully equipped and ready to go. It's particularly an amazing studio for adding live drums, strings and tracking vocals. Every session comes with an experienced engineer so you can focus on making music.

We can mix and master your projects either all digitally or analog/digital hybrid using some of the best outboard gear in the world. The control room has a mastering grade frequency and time response for accurate monitoring.

Custom Strings

Real strings
change everything.

South Creek arranges and records custom string parts for your track: solo lines, quartets or full sections. Delivered anywhere in the world. We have arranged and recorded strings for award-winning producers such as Ryan Hewitt (Chilli Peppers/Lumineers), Shane Nicholson (Casey Chambers) and Matt Fell. Our work with Matt Fell and Fanny Lumsden earned an ARIA award in 2020.

Jane Stanley has performed/recorded with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra, Bruce Springsteen, Andrea Bocelli, John Farnham, Michael Bublé, Harry Connick Junior, OneRepublic, Olivia Newton-John, Hanson and Kate Miller-Heidke and Wu Tang Clan. She has played in orchestras for various film soundtracks such as Anaconda, Peter Rabbit, Ladies in Black, The Traveller and various Marvel films. Jane has featured in several music video clips with artists including The Veronicas and Delta Goodrem, and performed with artists including You Am I, Peking Duck and Jessica Mauboy at The ARIA Awards.

David and Jane typically do the arrangement, but you can send us an arrangement, work with another arranger or producer or hire the space. The possibilities are endless.

About us

We are South Creek.

South Creek is owned and run by brother and sister David and Jane Stanley.

Between them they've worked with Keith Urban, Bruce Springsteen, Flume, Sia, Wu-Tang Clan, One Republic, John Farnham, The Veronicas, Andrea Bocelli, Harry Connick Jr, Michael Bublé, Olivia Newton-John, Human Nature, Sarah Blasko, Jessica Mauboy, Kate Miller-Heidke, Delta Goodrem and more. Jane has also worked with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra, and performed at major events including the ARIA Awards and NRL Grand Final, and appeared on The Voice and Sunrise.

South Creek combines an experienced production and string arrangement team and one of the finest studios in Australia, all under the same roof.
